    COMBAT JACKS: Director’s Cut

Relaunching the successful original Combat Jacks comic and extending it from 24 to 32 pages with additional story, art and pin ups.

I am happy to say I’ve run two successful Kickstarter programs before, one being for the original COMBAT JACKS 24-page comic. The perks I had were more unique because I offered opportunities for backers to be an actual character in the book as well as the reward of owning the Tucci/McKenna variant cover and a “first come, first served” choice of original interior pages from the comic. The problem with the original print run and where I fell short was that tried to squeeze a 30-page story into a 24-page formatted comic and I was concerned about asking too much for the original Kickstarter for fear that I wouldn’t reach my goal. That said, I did reach my goal (and thank you to all of you who made the original COMBAT JACKS a reality) but this new “Director’s Cut” edition fulfills the original vision I had for the comic and flushes out the story better as well as offers you, the potential backers of this project, a chance to own an extremely limited edition of the new book as well as any one of the additional perks I’ve set up and quite possibly missed out the first time. I plan on continuing COMBAT JACKS and making it a tidy four issue mini-series that has been discussed with IDW to collect as a 100-page trade paperback in the foreseeable future. I invite you to consider being a a part of this event because once these comics run out there will not be a reprint in comic format. Stay tuned!

Power Play is the creator-owned book I’ve been working on for the past few months with my writing partner, Kurt Christenson, and I’m excited to say that a free preview will be going live on Comixology on Wednesday, 7/20/11. Check it out here— http://www.comixology.com/ Or through Comixology’s super-awesome app on whatever digital device you prefer (iPod, Android, etc).

Everyone’s been talking about how the future of comics is digital, but we’re actually taking the plunge, making a comic that is primarily designed to be read on a digital platform.
We’re playing around with some storytelling techniques that simply aren’t possible in the print medium, and just giving it a shot to see what kind of comics are possible in the 21st century.

Our story revolves around Mac, a college student in NYC who suddenly finds himself with superpowers.  Does he try to fight crime? Maybe try to take over the world? Maybe put his underwear on the outside just for fun? NO! He he joins the Power Play Games, a full contact, extreme sports league with other people with strange powers and remarkable abilities!
This preview will introduce you to Mac, The Ice Queen, Gowanus Pete and others, and take you on a quick tour of the world of Power Play.

So, please keep an eye out on Wednesday, and help spread the word!
